Embroidery artist : maki
Maki is a Japanese embroidery artist currently based in Tokyo.
She used to work EPIC SONY RECORDS in Sony Music Entertainment (Japan) Inc. She quit the company and She started learning embroidery in earnest after take part in "Embroidery CAFE" workshop of “gallery artist in” for enjoy the embroidery at a Cafe. And She is obsessed with embroidery outside the box to express her sense of the world freely.
After that, She learned techniques of embroidery art at "L'artisan de la broderie d'art Lemmikko " in Tokyo and She acquired the technique of "Needlework" and "Crochet hook".
Her artworks have been focused on "women" for the past several years.
She expresses women's charming personality by embroidery.
She makes works with Beads, Vintage Beads, Sequins (made in Japan, France and Czech, etc.), Cabochon, Ribbon, Fabric, Feather, Lace, Fancy yarn, and others. So, Her works are very colorful.
